Since he's a friend, the encouragement is useful, relevant and warrented. Don't rage because somebody wants to post in 'your' testing thread, or whatever the problem is. You could be forgiven for thinking it was not encouragement, however, since I didn't mention that we knew each other.

As for this little exchange, no it will not put put Anaematicka off in his application. It will just make him laugh.
