Coming to an Occupied System Near You: Monitors

With the annexation of the Exante system following the Coredian War, Skeelzanian commanders realized they needed some sort of ship to maintain order in the new systems and border colonies. Traditionally the Skeelzanian Navy has been a hard-hidding fleet of Capital Ships, but they cannot be everywhere at once.

Shortly after the Annexation, plans were drawn up for a large gunship that was relatively simple in design and construction. Dubbed "monitors," these ships will act as semi-mobile weapon platforms will act as a deterrant not only to raiders but planetary insurrectionists. Six tri-gun plasma turrets serve as the main armament, backed up by numerous missile banks. A heavy PD system deters bombing runs, and later designs may feature a launch bay.

As is, nice ship too. Even if it isn't "pretty" you still did a good job on those turrets.
