Well, my FTL is point-to-point, but ships generally need to make multiple jumps to cover large distances - they usually stop in unclaimed interstellar space, however, and are, as a rule, well armed as a result of the High Guard's ordinance hand-me-down program, along with other joint initiatives with the Kanuckistani Merchants' Association.
