Well the funny thing was, his nation was apparently ravaged by the last wave of Shivan Wars and his home dimension was basically what Eris was, but with destroyed stars and all that. He had no way of rebuilding or surviving, hence the need to invade. So with the destruction of his fleet, he basically crippled himself.
