Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is awesome. However, being a university creditmaster aside this is the plague of all good roleplay threads which attempt something other than spontaneity.

Actually, other than a few SMAC and Alien Crossfire tech/"secret project" concepts like "Probabilistic Mechanics" and "Cloudbase Academy", it's entirely original tech base and Solar Communes doesn't fit with any faction either from it or from Alien Crossfire.
