Distributed Sentiences are actually a distinct minority - it's actually rather expensive, anti-ageing mods are reasonably cheap(and usually hereditary), and the national religion has a scientifically verified afterlife(which even allows those with high enough karma continue to interact with the material world to a limited degree), all of which does cut down on those willing to make the investment.
And then there are those who simply aren't interested in it in the first place.

Yes the only two designs I am keeping are the Serpentine and Valiant, both are *gasp* non-temporal. I don't know at this time if Metallinauts will step back into temporal technology.
