Most people find it difficult to EMP shield nanites on account of their being so small.

Then again, most people don't make up their own arbitrary laws of physics too. :P

You can, however, shield a nanofab facility. Or even a portable fabber. :P

By "nuking a Mindsetti planet" I assumed, of course, that you'd somehow taken down the shielding.

I mean passive EMP shielding, like a faraday cage or the ilk. Say, a layer of superconductor. Anything that'll block an EMP.

I thought of that. Problem is is that it can't replace red meat for a food stable. Phytoplankton (Algae etc.) is viewed more as a "supplemental" food source. We simply couldn't sustain ourselves on it alone indefinatly.

Which is why Kanuckistani 'Green Goo' consists of a broad mixture of such organisms, engineered to meet a variety of dietary and culinary needs. It's almost universally unpopular, but it's cheap, it works, and properly prepared, about as palatable as anything else.

And if nothing else, you can feed it to traditional meat animals.

Eh, trade partner? 8)

It could be done, yes. Fairly easily, in fact, if you're willing to shortcut it with a parasite; then you just need to give it somewhere to grow, make the fruit resistent/impervious to gut bacteria, and allow the cattle to pass it.

Getting the animal itself to generate it is rather more difficult, but it can be done.

Why? Looking to commission a Genetailor?
