Hard SF is overrated. I will pierce the heavens with my chainsaw!

But keeping it hard is kind of the point...
The Mekantans and the things they're directly responsible for are the only things that get to rape the laws of physics...

... I'm going to rape you all so hard your various orifaces will be an unending river of blood, and when I'm finally done with everything from your eye sockets to your arsehole, I'm going cut new holes to use...

Nope. It costs £9 a pop to produce one book, as it's a limited run on very expensive printing stock. I'll make around £2.50 per unit sold. No free copies.Otagia wrote:We all get free copies, right? The Mindset wrote:I'm working on my first graphic novel, published this September by Random House/Jonathan Cape. I really have no spare time.

Is it going to be a mostly hard SF NS with the same mindset of the Mekantans?Neo-Mekanta wrote:I already have two instances of that, too many and I won't be able to claim hard SF status.

I thought I would never never ever hear Mekanta admit he is having a problem keeping it hard, what with his reputation on NS and here...Neo-Mekanta wrote:But keeping it hard is kind of the point...

Seriously, I am writing the inactivity this forum (and NS) off as one of the seasonal declines that occurs every year. Christmas vacation, Summer finals and end of school, Spring Break, and other holidays have always been marked by a decline in activity.
Re: It's pretty dead here. Yeah?
For my part, it's mostly post-Con Season burnout. Not only did I have my own army to paint for DieCon, I also painted a decent chunk of prize support for 'em. Throw the fact that I was Volunteer Coordinator for an art fair, and I was pretty overloaded. Now that both are over with, I'm just kinda basking in the fact that I don't have to do anything.

Heap of RL issues on my plate atm ... that when combined with playing a few games competitively leaves me with no energy for RPin. Or even editing the stuff I should be.
It'll change in the next month though, thankfully.

I check in every so often, but I don't really have interest in posting to most topics. That's p cool about you making a graphic novel, Mindset.
