I'm trying (slowly) on mapping for UnrealEngine instead. I think it's cooler to do a spaceship as a playable level.

Couldn't get online today until now for various reasons(hence no RP post), but I did have the opportunity to play with Maya for a bit, and I found a Nifty New Feature while I was working on a new ship(seen in the pic with temp turrets used to work out weapon placement, as well as being generally incomplete).

Getting the glow to look "decently", if you can call it that, was a pain - be so much better with photoshop.

...and it's almost 4am. Crap.

There is an image of the ship on a white background. My super secret Templar class l)

As for your ship Kanuck it reminds me a bit of the intrepid class, good design over all, good coverage for weapons fire in short, sweet work.

No comment at all over the fact I sliced the ship into a half-dozen, still-glowing, still-fighting, free-floating chunks?

:D

Or the barrel-end, spinning in the foreground, it and the nacelle that housed it casting shadows on the saucer, while the gun it was removed from fires defiantly in the background?

Frankly, I thought it was quite cool. But then, I did sink hours into making it, so I'm biased. :P

(also, very big file sizes there. My poor modem. )

To prove I still had my touch, I tried making a non ship or robot object (like the guitar I once made). They are harder because we know what they are supposed to look like. Please keep in mind, I just added the rocks and they are just filler, the building is the part I spent a few hours on.

I know what you mean. I drove myself insane trying to make the main hall for the University of Marratzanis. The trick is making it distinctive without making it unrecognizable. D:

Credit to AN for making the initial blue background and coloring the line art of the ship white.

Credit to me for making the grid, the words, and the model.
