Torontonias also votes Nay, we don't feel it is nessecary to have other nations military bases built on our soil. Embassies yes, Military, no.

Scenario time: An IDP battlecruiser and 2 escort destroyers are docked in an ESUS starbase. Withhout warning, they power up and open fire on the base. Thousands die as the station is destroyed from the inside-out. That is, unless you're planning on installing defense turrets in every dock in the Union. Even then, that might not help.

Result of Scenario 2: Esus forces quickly destroy battlecruiser and destroyer escorts, and then put enormous diplomatic pressure on the IDP to eject beligerent member. Once beligerent member is ejected, ESUS forces move in and enslave hostile government.

Terrorist attack? separatists? spies pretending to be another nation to cause a war?..

And i doubt ESUS would react that way, more likely comercial embargo, trade and diplomatic restrictions.

I certainly hope not. An embargo as a response to an act of war? Hardly seems appropriate.
