You're missing out on one of the best gaming experiences to be had, anywhere.

Fortunately, a modernized spiritual successor is being released in 07. Supreme Commander. Made by Chris Taylor himself (creator of TA,) this version promises multi-kilometer long flying aircraft carriers, maps that can exceed 2800x2800 (Basically, a whole Starcraft map takes up maybe a single Supreme Commander screen at max zoom,) as well as one of the most beautiful nuclear missile effects I've ever seen.

Not really. It's pretty scalable, all told. They said they were emphasizing scalability from the beginning. It should work passably well on midrange systems. Mind you, something that's totally obsolete today probably won't be able to run it. It is coming out in 2007 you know.

...Supreme Commander isn't coming out till 07. You can't download true TA. You probably got TA Spring, which sucks compared to the original. (It's prettier, true, but it works like crap on any even remotely old system.)

The original TA is from a time when 3d rendering was totally software. Which means that a modern processor can handle 5000+ units with the right game patch.

Ahh. You got nerfed TA. No wonder it doesn't work. Try and pick it up retail if you can. It's remarkably rare, but worth it if you can find it.
