The discussion about standing ground armies and powerful fleets and how the merit of which one was better earlier in this thread was already done in a thread by the Kresh ala Nobuseri, where Zerst, Kresh, CF, Xenonier got into an argument about it, pretty big and hard feelings all around. It's in general somewhere. But basically, we all agreed that it was a different of opinion/goals of the nations in question on what they wanted in planets and objectives in war, and left it at that. Xenonier and Zerst would rather not bring it up again, since they expended the most energy aside from Kresh in the arguments.
