Re: Obama '08?
Serious Discussion? In my Spam?
Seriously though, I'm more looking at the batshit insane VP McFail picked as his running mate, I mean, COME ON... Palin is so out of touch with reality its unbelievable... She thinks her experience in Wasilla gives her the experience needed to run the country... Lets look at the facts... Wasilla has a population of 5,469 People, and she left the little town with 20 Million dollars in debt... That's $3656 Per Person.
And what was the cash spent on? A sports complex...
She and her husband were voting members of the Alaskan independence Party, and he's allegedly still involved with them... I'd rather let Canada have it then let it lapse into Alask-ReligiousBigotopia...
Now, to the whole ticket's idea for the economy, is rated to leave the nation ~11 Trillion dollars Further in debt, Oblama is only going to leave us ~6 Trillion dollars further in debt...
At this point, its the lesser of two evils...
To take a page out of the republicans book, like a good little independant... I shall now vote with my quote-on-quote, "Morals"...
Batshit Insane VP who very well might be president... Thanks, but no thanks Mrs Palin...
Introduction of Religion in public schools... Duh, Obama... "You got Education in my Religion?" "Yeah, but you got shit in my Education..."
Slashes in the Education funding... Obama's plan wins, less of an impact, more to science...
No up-to-date economy plan... Tie... They're both clueless...
Nuclear Power... Tie...
McCain/Palin want to move the country into a Theocracy.
Obaba/Biden want to move us into a Pseudo-Socialistic Government...
At this point I have but one thing to say to that...
GO SOCIALISM! YEAH!

Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska aswell, you know.
The debt was also voter-approved.
Infact, Besides the one or two mistakes every politician makes, so im not going to judge anyone on that merit, Palin has done a heck of alot of good things for Alaska regardless of anything else. Going around calling someone batshit insane because you disagree with a person gives YOU less credibility, because its just simple mud slinging.
Ive watched both of the campaigns from over here, (BTW, Vote Queen Elizabeth II!) and for a while I was behind Obama, then something just didnt feel right and I say if I was American I would vote for McCain.
Im not going to justify it on this forum because, im not american and i wont vote, so I dont need to. However, I do suggest you all get away from the Media, look up the facts yourself (wikipedia IS NOT looking up the facts) and make a more educated decision.
Socialism works in Europe, it wont work in America without a heck of alot of work, which is the last thing you need in the current economic climate, thats all I have to say.

Re: Obama '08?
She has, for example, consistently lowered unnecessary spending since she entered office, and has requested less federal funding, for example, than her predecessor asked for in his last year.
But ugh..
Like ive said, do your own research? I said i dont have to justify it and im not going to.
Do we really have to do politics here?

Re: Obama '08?
Not to mention that she actually has done enough in her career for a track record, good and bad, to exist, as opposed to the careful grey monotony that is Obama's.
Does no one remember when Russia attacked Georgia and his waffling then? Do you think he is going to become more decisive magically when he is sworn into office? Or that his election will pacify radical Islam (the real-as-fuck theocracies, not the sensationalist dystopian bilge) into peaceful co-existence with the Western world? Or that, despite doing everything he can to flip off corporations, that his election will just cease all outsourcing, because he is just such a gosh-darn smart and kind man?

You're right, we should invade Russia and tell the poorer American people that they have it so rough because they don't work hard enough.

...as opposed to flapping our arms helplessly trying to get the UN to impose sanctions while Putin orchestrates more "lebensraum" in Georgia and other places, and Judo instructional videos; while instituting a massive, unwieldy bureacracy for a healthcare system which will be huge, inefficient, and unresponsive, all while trying to pay off a massive debt and manage a massive deficit, as our economy continues to hemmorhage jobs faster, because corporations are jumping ship because they have no prospects for the future here and no reason to stay; watching (or not, as the media would probably choose to ignore it, unless they could find a way to blame Bush more) as Iraq and Afghanistan slide back into chaos after the Commander-in-Chief unilaterally and completely withdraws, and as a nuclear Iran, essentially given a blank check in terms of its military future, begins to orchestrate the second Final Solution.

Re: Obama '08?
AZN I am shocked... down right shocked that you could support McCain.
You may not be a fan of Obama/Biden, I can understand that; but please tell me this: how can you support a campaign headed by an old man who is already ailing and is on the verge of kicking? This would of course be coupled with the fact that his running mate has a track record of abusing power (the State Trooper incident), believes that being governor of a back water state and sometimes dealing with low-level Russian officials in trade matters is the equivalent to experience in foreign policy, wants to put religion in public GOVERNMENT FUNDED (first amendment?) schools, believes that if the Russians invade it is her sole responsibility (not the people in the armed forces who are trained) to beat them back, openly believes that dinosaurs existed 2,000 years ago, allows her constituency to spout hateful remarks at a member of her boom crew because he was a minority, insinuates that Obama is a terrorist and probably way more that I cannot recall at the moment.
Knowing that this person is going to be left in command when McCain inevitably dies in office, how can you support/vote Republican?
