Forum 7 is perhaps the wrong place to be discussing this sort of things.

Yes. The tests will always be in place, so long as I am senior director. Why? They not only prevent less suitable candidates from joining, it also stands as a test of commitment. If you're commited enough to complete three lengthy tests just to join us, chances are, you're going to stay. Which most people have.Jangle Jangle Ridge wrote:Serious question: Do we honestly need tests anymore? Or at least, do we need to always use them, and make them so rigorous. At this point, the ESUS is no longer a strong role-playing entity. We essentially want people are the forum who are competent. Most of the time, it is quite obvious whether or not the person who is applying is, in fact, competent. In what few cases are not clear, we could, perhaps, use tests. But for most applicants, they're either intelligent human beings or idiotic subhumans.
In comparision, look at the GFFA. They look at past RP rather than conduct a roleplaying test. Look how many people are defecting, and look a the infighting. The ESUS is OOCly strong because of the test. It is ICly strong because of the test.
There is no downside. The test will remain, in it's current form. Always.
