Putting out a brush fire

Post by Metallinauts »

Galactic North East, Andromeda Galaxy
King Hall'kir Jag Ol'unnin sat upon his throne looking at a hologram with utter glee. His people at long last have finally unlocked the secret to time itself. Now they can show the multiverse that they are a true power to be reckoned with. His mind was a blur of thoughts of grand misdeeds, and the subjection of the multiverse at large. He imposed a decree that day that the entire fleet was to convert to the mighty technology known to most as temporal.

With in a year, the fleet had been refit, plus many new classes found their way into production. In the ancient empire of Arizona Nova this would be their apocalypse scenario that one day a chronomancer would grow far too powerful and begin to unravel all that was. However, what this fool hardy king had not counted on was that their are other, more ancient powers, lurking in the shadows. Waiting for such an upstart as him to try and wrong the multiverse. This is the function of the Federation. The silent guardians, the dark knights, not necessarily doing what is right, but what is necessary to protect existence.

Ol'unnin had launched a massive campaign, on the blood rival of his empire. As one would expect it was more of a steam roller type campaign than that of an actual war. The opponent was powerless to stop his temporal driven fleet, whole fleets were erased from existence, planets, moons and people were all ripped from space-time at the whim of a mad man. How ever, this mad man had not counted on interdiction.

Somewhere in Void Space
001 had been closely watching the developments of the Andromeda Galaxy as was her job, and now with Ol'unnin closed in on his enemies home system, this required intervention on the part of the Federation. After a few nanoseconds she had alerted he counterpart, 002 of the situation.

In the temporal command center 002's avatar appeared.

"001 has called for an interdiction on the part of the Federation in the Andromeda galaxy, I have taken the liberty of upload all the data on the situation in to your neural nets" he said to the assembly of the Joint Chiefs.

After a few seconds of data processing, the various military figures had concluded the best course of action and were currently drawing up the battle plans in their minds.

Back in the Andromeda galaxy
Ol'unnin clicked with delighted and stamped all sixteen of his legs on the ground with glee as he watched his enemies fall before his mighty fleet. Aboard the safety of his flagship he could watch as he literally erased all the resistance away. After these people fell, the entire quadrant would be his for the taking. Yet klaxons began to blare as an unfathomable amount of t-radiation began flooding the surrounding space.

"What is going on" the insectoid king clicked out to his crew on the bridge.

"Unknown sire, we have no way of determining the source of this radiation" a voice clicked in response.

Then it came, like the swift hammer of vengeance, the Temporal Interdiction Fleet; three and a half dozen jet black vessels of varying size. All of it centered around the crown jewel, the Equinox.

"King Ol'unnin, this is the Temporal Interdiction Fleet of the Metallinautsi Federation, you are hereby ordered to stand down, and surrender all vessels and data concerning temporal technology. Further more you are to halt any research that you maybe pursuing at this time on temporal technology" a voice came through on the loud speakers.

Of course the king did not like to hear someone telling him what to do, "And what if I refuse to comply with these demands he said staring at the formidable looking vessels ahead of him". While he talked with the unknown commander he began emitting pheromones that were giving orders to his crew. These orders were to prepare to open fire on the interlopers.

"If you do not comply, we will make you comply" the voice said in a quite foreboding tone.

"I think not" the King said. He then silenced the comm channel and turned to his firing crew, "Fire at will, we will show them our power just as the Treellites have tasted our power!" his many eyes began to glow with the corruption of power.

The hundreds of ships began to bear down upon the Metallinautsi strike fleet. Yet every shot rendered against the vessels were hungrily gobbled up by the far more advanced temporal shielding of the Interdiction fleet, Ol'unnin's followers were beginning to see that they have bitten off far more than they can chew, however it was far too late for them to back down.

With no verbal confirmation as to the choice the king made, the Interdiction fleet opened a torrent of fire on the inferior vessels. PSPs streaked across space, sucking fighters, corvettes and small frigates into them.

Neutronium pellets flew across the battlefield tearing portions of hull off the cruisers and carriers, and continued on through the large battle ships. Then the Equinox made its move, aiming right at the flagship which Ol'unnin was in. The primary firing ring charged, and then sent a purple bolt across the stars, erasing him, his crew and his existence from time. Tesseraction.

The fleet was utterly destroyed, no trace could be found of Ol'unnin's legacy and with that the Interdiction fleet disappeared into thin space.
