Well. What an incredible example of godmodishness. However, since we decide to deal with these, people, we need to find a good way to deal with the Shivan nanites.

I know Menkata has some nanites. I've been working on a version of the nanites from ST:TNG (the ones that Wesley made before everyone decided to shove him in a torpedo tube). Also, if I remember correctly, theta radiation works to sterilize a nanite-infested area. So, to keep the Shivans from consuming, say, one of our homeworlds, what's the best way to keep the Shivans from trying this again?

Good idea, thought does theta radiation have side affects?

Fealzanthia, A concession...First I will allow Westley Crusher to live long enough to tell us about this Theta radiation (whatever the hell that is!), but after which, I will stuff him in an anti-matter torpedo casing, and launch it!

I dont think so.. maybe not in a small dose, besides, how much of such radiation would be needed?

If I remember the episode correctly, a human doctor (who plays doctor Kelso on Scrubs, BTW) fired a sustained blast into a computer. It was about 1 second blast with the diameter of a phaser blast. It setrilized the whole system in that area.

Damnit, it's actually gamma radiation (I have too much free time, a high speed connection, and google). A low level gamma field reduces the nanites' processing speed. A larger burst of gamma rays destroys a large portion of the species.

one thing............what the hell are Shivan Nanites???????? what do they do? how do they work? why not make a nanite that combats the SN

I remember that approach, as I was going to use it. Keep in mind, Wormian ships have captured some of the Shivan nanites. Unfortunately, despite my containment and whatnot being perfect for storing them, he has omitted two of my three security fields.

CorpSac, IB's nanites are lil microscopic robots that break down something at a molecular level. And they reproduce fast, consuming energy to power themselves.

As for how to counter them, I've been working on something I call the 'Terminator Nanite' which is specifically designed to destroy other nanites while doing no damage to other stuff (such as people.) I've got it mostly planned out too.

Blademasters and I have been working on ship protection from these nanites. Since they have no drives to power them, it's a fairly straightforward technology. Quite simply, ships are equipped with anti-gravity shields in addition to their regular energy/other form of protection shielding. This constitutes the ship having a thin layer of so called "exotic matter", which has negative mass, and therefore produces a gravity field that "pushes" objects away from it, almost like magnetic repulsion. This simple technology is what shields Mindsettian ships from interstellar dust while travelling at high speeds, and if the layer's thickness was increased, it could easily prevent the nanites from ever reaching the hull of any of our ships.

As for planetary defence, I suggest we all pool our research on anti-nanite nanite technology, of which I have some.
