For the Solarians, anything resembling a Senate wasn't to be taken too seriously. Their opinion was clear, and their unique political setup would make the necessary coercive provisions to "volunteer" people and resources into such task force impossible, for otherwise nobody would ever care about what was obviously proposed in favor of those egocentric hacks claiming the north of their Milky Way, which could just burn and pay for their arrogance. Their choice was logical, to ensure the proposal will not be approved, and if it does, to hope it ends as paperweight rhetoric. The hope of most Solarians was that Trailers ended burnt out somehow. Since a certain incident, people started spitting on anything resembling Greek culture in Solar Communes and there is a common disgust over that which would be most benefited with the proposal. Besides, they have always minded their own businesses and been somewhat isolationistic. Better billions of humans dead than billions of humans living as slaves to feed the war machines of their genocidal and ruthless governments, when no other choice was sane, like in this case.

Their only presence was a small, hovering metal orb recording everything for the few who would bother to check it. The Solarians knew the importance of knowing not only themselves, but also their "allies". Eventually, as the debate calmed down a little, the orb projected the image of a man covered by darkness, as he simply said:

"None of us is willing to support this endeavor, none of us is willing to coerce others into supporting it, none of us care about chains of command, none of us will die as fodder puppets for a conflict to which the only ones to blame are those who began Ironing things out. Our people will not jump into the grave Hermes and IRON dug for themselves, for we recognize that certain negative aspects will only be extinct once their bearers are gone, and sometimes unfortunately, such bearers are entire cultures. Getting killed over a mess we didn't start? Definitively not.

Pee Ess: The previous opinions do not reflect the opinions of all Solarians, or of any central authority, and are only thoughts of the recorder of this message. The recorder of this message is Anonymous"

"Truthfully," Panzuriel said with a slight smirk but also a serious look in his eyes. "We find it difficult to reconcile the contentious nature of the issue for which this proposal was set forward with the relationship the two squabbling forces have towards us. If we are to intervene to protect ESUS interests in the supposedly impending conflict... WHOSE ESUS interests are we seeking to defend? Almost every alliance out in that big fat ugly galaxy has an ESUS member or two among its ranks. If a fight breaks out between two alliances and our members from both cry out at the 'injustice', what are we to do? Act according to who is more popular? Will we deploy a massive fleet of similarly massive destructive power in favor of whoever bribes us the most?

"Did we not have a rule that disputes between individual members would be kept to themselves unless some enormously serious but also enormously unlikely breach of protocol were to occur? If some of our people fear being caught in a crossfire, what the hell are we supposed to do if the alliances involved only send ESUS members at them? Goodness knows it has happened before. Our attitude about ESUS members attacking each other is phenomenally lax. Are we supposed to just snap tight on such behavior because of this farcical dispute and the fact that some of those involved have bigger guns than others?

"Do we do it to protect the innocents? Well... WE might. One thing we have noticed during our time in the ESUS is that the common sentient has little pull in our decision making... beyond the notion of cheap labor. When the hell has the possibility of collateral damage stayed the alliance's hand? Some of us RELISH in inflicting it... a note we are not proud to make light of but its there, and we know some of you ARE proud to make light of it.

"We would be ready to meet any external threat against the ESUS any day... but the universe just isn't that simple anymore. We know that more than most. Our own alliance ties have forced us to stay our hand when we would have relished the opportunity to assist one side or the other. Such is the situation that faces our great and ancient alliance: our hands are bound from taking one side or the other because our interests are manifest in BOTH.

"No perspective? We have enough to know this whole thing would be a farce from the start."
